Career Options - To Stay or Go?
In a fast moving sector, even the most well qualified individuals can find difficulty adapting to change.
After 10 years with a city firm, 45 year old Senior IT Manager, Keith, began to show signs of stress and was signed off work.
The company was keen to retain him, but both he and his Human Resources Director recognised that Keith would be unable to return to his current role and would need to find an alternative role within the company.
We were asked to assist Keith in exploring his career options, initially within the company.
With his consultant, he drew up an action plan confirming a strategy for seeking an alternative internal appointment. This was presented to the Human Resources Director and the Head of IT.
Once this avenue had been explored and eventually exhausted, an appropriate exit package was agreed to the mutual benefit of the company and Keith.
