Following a merger, a major city financial institution was closing a number of offices, affecting over a thousand members of staff from director level to clerical staff.
It was imperative that levels of work should remain constant during the merger, so our task was to arrange meetings and workshops around shifts and workload. Through intensive coaching and mentoring, every effort was made to ensure that individuals would find and start their new jobs as quickly as possible after they left. Flexibility and responsiveness were essential.
Outplacement ranged from senior 1:1 outplacement to group workshops running from ½ to 2 days. In all cases the programmes included follow on support by fax, telephone and e-mail enabling individuals to maintain contact with their consultant after the closure.
